While I could play literally all day in my garage, I want to develop a brand, get cool music equipment, practice my setlist, and perform paid gigs. Real Music - Real Art
Live music is the greatest thing ever. In an age where AI can “create” (with the correct prompts… for now) almost anything, sometimes indistinguishable from authentic creation, live-performed music is pure, sacred, and authentic.
Unless you are in the greater Louisville area, you’ll never get to see me perform. This Substack is my parallel stab at authenticity - here, you can see me as a real, authentic, gritty, fallible human being as I work through this path. I will mess up, I will fail - like Edison, I’ll find 10,000 ways not to make a lightbulb. But unlike Edison, you get to see, understand, and learn with me.
Walk With Me; Or Live Vicariously
I told an old high school buddy, that played guitar with me long ago, about playing live gigs now. He said, “that sounds terrifying!” I was surprised by that… I have another friend that has a million excuses for not being able to get to the point that she can play live music. She said, “I’m super-curious. I want to know everything you are doing.” For both of those friends, and for you too - this is a page where I’ll record and document my journey.
